Our client is a leading commodities firm based in the West End.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
These will be broad based covering various areas of compliance expertise, mainly including, sanctions, counterparty due diligence, anti-bribery and corruption and ethics, exchange traded and OTC commodity derivatives.
This will be done by maintaining a strong understanding of all applicable laws, regulations across all relevant jurisdictions and;
The performance of regional and business risk assessments to review, maintain and design the improvement of the existing compliance framework,
Policy and process review and creation,
Monitoring of key risk areas (including trade surveillance) and production of relevant metrics to monitor compliance performance or any breach of regulations
Reporting to senior leadership, country and business heads and external regulatory bodies as required
Building relationships with and responding to local regulator or exchange inquiries
Providing advice and guidance to the business, derivative traders and origin country leadership in relation to all compliance matters,
Managing the training program,
Continuous improvement and development of systemic solutions to enhance the effectiveness of the current program.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Experience in financial crime and/or commodity derivative compliance.
In depth knowledge of financial crime and/or commodity derivatives regulation and standards at a regional and international level (i.e. SPCA, UK Bribery Act, UN and OFAC Sanctions Rules, MIFID II, EMIR, MAR, FSMA, relevant exchange rules, ISO37001 etc,)
Experience in conducting compliance risk assessments to ensure the continued effectiveness of the compliance framework and identify any areas for improvement.
Demonstrable experience of successful development, implementation and continuous improvement of risk management strategies, policies and frameworks across an organisation
Excellent track record in financial services and knowledge of commodity trading businesses and particular, the agriculture futures markets, the regulated exchanges and involvement with EU, UK and Dubai regulators.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to instil a culture of responsible risk management
