Financial Crime Officer (hybrid- 1-2 days at the Kent office)
THE COMPANY:
We are working with an expanding banking Group based in Kent, who provide simple and straightforward day-to-day banking solutions to their specialist customers. They are looking for a Financial Crime Officer to join the team.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
To support in the development and implementation of the AML / Financial Crime Compliance Framework within the 2nd LoD
Working closely with the 1st LoD to assist with the production of the Financial Crime Risk Assessment – ensuring that latest financial crime typologies are included (where applicable).
Working close with compliance colleagues actively support in the rollout of the AML / Financial Crime compliance monitoring programme.
Collaborating closely with stakeholders to support in the development and interpretation of Management Information that is aligned to risks identified from the FCRA and Risk Appetite Statement
Provide guidance to the 1st LoD on legal, regulatory, and best practice requirements to strengthen operational controls.
Be able to support in the development and delivery of tailored training to 1st LoD.
Through effective monitoring support in the testing of 1st LoD policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate financial crime. Ensure that the 1st LoD policies, procedures and controls are in line with the UK’s legal, regulatory and industry guidance through periodical testing.
Support in the drafting / presentations of AML/Financial Crime reports for appropriate committees.
Able to support in providing AML / Financial Crime compliance updates to 1st and 2nd LoD where applicable.
Support in framing the AML / Financial Crime governance requirements working closely with key compliance, risk, and 1st LoD stakeholders.
Additional ad hoc tasks as required.
Liaising closely with the MLRO and Head of Financial Crime Compliance in undertaking deep dive assessments or thematic reviews on key areas of concern (for example identified from compliance monitoring, significant regulatory focus, ongoing or a material incident, follow up to a red internal audit finding etc).
Assisting in the production of materials for internal governance committees, to provide analysis and oversight through reporting of outcomes identified through the administration of the monitoring and horizon scanning process.
To bring to the early attention of the Head of Compliance and MLRO (SMF17) instances where breaches of relevant legislation and regulations are suspected.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Significant compliance experience gained in a financial institution or other similar environment
The individual must demonstrate that they have professional level of scepticism and challenge.
Demonstratable experience of implementing Financial AML / Financial Crime Compliance Frameworks.
Has conducted AML / Financial Crime quality assurance 1st LoD compliance reviews.
Good understanding of the Money Laundering Regulations, JMLSG Guidance and FCA Requirements; and demonstratable knowledge of how to apply these requirements.
Able to positively influence and build excellent working place relationships with the 1st and 2nd Line stakeholders.
Experience of being a positive role model and driving good culture and risk awareness.
