Compliance and AML Manager

THE COMPANY:

Our client is a leading provider of private & corporate banking and structured real estate financing services in the UK.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain record of changes to Compliance Policies & Procedures resulting from regulatory changes and staff/client feedback
• Ensure Compliance Policies and Procedures are timely reviewed and are up-to-date reflecting latest relevant regulatory requirements
• Maintain Complaints Register
• Maintain Vulnerable Customers Register
• Maintain Chinese Wall register
• Support Hoc/MLRO in maintaining gifts and hospitality reporting
• Support HoC/MLRO in refreshing HIGH Country Risk list annually
• Automatic Exchange of Information (AEOI), i.e. FATCA/CRS annual data preparation and reporting to HMRC
• Prepare data for annual FCA Financial Crime report
• Prepare data for annual FCA Complaints report
• Assist HoC & MLRO /CRO with planning and monitoring of staff AML/Compliance training
• Assist HoC &MLRO /CRO in ad-hoc technology projects
• Liaise with 1LOD Relationship Managers to ensure they perform thorough and appropriate Client Due Diligence when on-boarding clients, challenging and guiding as necessary
• Advise Relationship Managers on appropriate documentation/evidence
• Ensure all necessary Sanction/ PEP and adverse news screening checks are completed
• Ensure client files are clear, concise and complete before passing to MLRO/CRO for checking and final sign-off
• Ensure AML reviews are conducted on time and according departmental AML Due Diligence Diary are kept up-to-date
• Sanctions / PEPs screening (client database management / payments)
• Maintain structured electronic client AML files
• Track changes and manage response to current data protection legislation: UK GDPR / Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA)
• Ensure relevant data protection controls are in place and conform to current regulatory requirements, e.g. Data Protection Policy, Fair Data Processing Notice (Clients), Data Retention Policy and Data Map
• Ensure clients’ personal data is stored appropriately and in accordance with the requirements set out in the DPA
• Maintain Personal Data Breach response process and ensure the Information Commissionaires Office is timely notified (within 72 hours) when necessary
• Manage data protection related queries, i.e. Data Subject Access Requests, or complaints received from the clients and maintain relevant registers
• Monitor/initiate follow up on daily client transactions
• Monitor cash transactions to ensure clients provide all necessary information as per Cash Policy and appropriate authorisation is in place
• Ensure Transaction Monitoring process is fit for purpose
• Prepare and enhance monthly MI Dashboard
• Reconcile Client Due Diligence Diary with iMal Client report at month-end, adding or removing records as necessary
• Establish and maintain electronic client AML files
• Collate and distil relevant regulatory updates for Board/Senior Management via monthly MI

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Regulatory and Financial crime experience – ideally from a banking background
• Working knowledge of regulations applicable to UK regulated FIs, in theory and practice
• High quality of written and verbal communication
• Integrity: willingness to challenge (including HoC & MLRO / CRO)
• Ability to think beyond box-ticking to achieve Compliance goals
• Microsoft Office and WorldCheck/screening software
• Practical experience and understanding of Due Diligence processes and requirements
• Practical experience of Compliance MI
