Compliance Analyst

THE COMPANY:

Our client is an International banking group, seeking a Compliance Analyst to join the team.  The role will involve working alongside the Compliance Manager/Deputy MLRO in supporting the Bank’s compliance function, ensuring the Bank adherence to all regulatory, financial and core operational system requirements.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work alongside the Compliance Manager in enhancing and the delivery of the annual Compliance Monitoring Programme in line with the PRA and FCA’s requirements;
• Identify, assess and monitor regulatory risks across the Bank’s products, services and business activities;
• Assist the development of and implementation of compliance frameworks, including policies and procedures;
• Perform regulatory horizon scanning and assess the impact of new FCA/PRA publications, consultations, and policy statements.
• Provide advisory support to internal stakeholders;
• Support preparation of regulatory submissions, attestations, and senior management reporting;
• Investigate and help resolve, both internal and external compliance issues;
• Work alongside Deputy MLRO in providing assurance that the 1st line of defence is embedding best practice in relation to Financial Crime, CDD and sanctions screening;
• Assist with financial crime risk assessments and control testing;
• Provide cover for the Compliance Manager in their absence.
• Other work may include assisting with trade surveillance, tasks relating to financial crime including voice and electronic communications monitoring and reviewing existing compliance policies and procedures.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Legal Degree or background would be useful for this role
• Experience in Generalist compliance including  Policy and Horizon scanning work within wholesale banking and/or trade finance;
• Attention to detail in identifying compliance issues and ensuring accurate reporting;
• A good understanding of regulatory rules/laws, industry issues and business operations;
• Knowledge of financial crime and regulatory requirements;
• Strong analytical and regulatory interpretation skills.
• Professional qualification (e.g., ICA, CAMS, or equivalent) an advantage.
